Port Augusta to Adelaide
Well the day didn’t start too promising but it got better. Our hotel did get one other guest, we didn’t see them or anyone else for that matter but the hotel was great and without a doubt the best quality bed of the trip. The street outside was marginally busier than yesterday but no real options for breakfast. So off we went and as per yesterday through a very barren landscape. The Tomtom soon had us turned off the main road and we headed in the direction of the Southern Flinders Range. The road was single lane bitumen but as rough as guts and many dips into dried up waterways. It seemed to go on and on and we were thoroughly sick of it and doubting the parentage of Tomtom by the time we arrived at a junction of a decent road. It was obvious that in one direction would lead us back to the A1 so we thought we’d just make life easy for ourselves and we headed in that direction.
