Perth to Busselton
Yesterday I took the bike in for a service. It was only a 10km trip but by the time I got an Uber both ways it took a bit of time. We decided to have a quiet day, we wandered to the local shops for lunch and watched a movie on telly.
Today we said goodbye to our wonderful hosts for the last 4 nights. Caitlin and Dan treated us very well, we are very grateful to them for putting us up and showing us around.
We headed south through the southern suburbs like Mandurah and visited towns along the way. Bunbury is a particularly nice seaside town.
We then headed inland and had lunch in a very pretty town called Bridgetown. After a wander about we returned to the bike and had a good chat with a group who were very interested in the bike and what we were up to.
We then rode on a backroad towards our destination for the night Busselton. The riding was just delightful through green rolling countryside and forests that were right up close to the road on both sides. It reminded me of the forests around Reefton at home. There were still some wildflowers around as well.
Busselton is a very nice place on the coast with lovely white sand beaches and safe swimming bays. It has a port and there is a thriving log export business in the area. It also boasts a jetty which is about 3km in length. You can jump on a miniature railway to take to the end of it if you don’t want to walk.
