Lakes Entrance to Ulladulla
The day dawned fine but threatening cloud and chilly
After a cuppa we packed up and headed off.
It had rained quite a bit in the night so the roads were wet and slippy. The road traverses some hilly ranges and is lined with eucalyptus trees. Very pleasant riding even if the temp was only 13.
After about an hour we stopped in the very pretty little town of Orbust for breakfast. Apart from a little shower the rain stayed away. Robyn saw her first Kangaroo of the trip and I missed it I saw my first Wombat (dead) and Robyn missed it so we called it a draw. We’ve both lost count now.
We came out of the ranges and as we entered NSW it brightened up considerably and the road dryed out. Happy days cruising along through a mix of rolling green farmland and forest.
We then entered oyster country. This coast boasts many oyster farms and they are big attraction around here.
We are travelling through country that we have travelled before with Mike & Pam on Harley Davidsons and have been reminiscing about some of the places we have seen before.
We have pushed on to Ulladulla so we can arrive in Sydney tomorrow a bit fresher as we navigate the busy city traffic to Manly where Robyn’s sister lives.
We are quite chilled as we didn’t bring all the cold weather kit we would normally have in NZ, we expect things to warm up consideranly as we head north towards Queensland.
So a long and hot shower, a walk along the waterfront and busy port, Indian meal then back to our motel to chill and plan.
I remember the oysters in Pambula !!
